Welcome to the Rebel Nell x Michigan Central Station Collaboration, a collection crafted from reclaimed historic graffiti discovered during the station’s restoration. Every piece is a blend of past and present, designed to honor Detroit’s evolution while celebrating the city’s next chapter.

A Landmark Reborn — And Repurposed With Purpose

During the extensive restoration of Michigan Central Station, layers of weathered graffiti were carefully removed and preserved. These fragments held years of Detroit’s creative imprint — artists, visitors, wanderers, and locals leaving their mark in a building that stood silently through decades of change.

Rebel Nell was given rare access to these materials, and with that came a responsibility:

How do we honor a building with this much history?
How do we responsibly preserve its story?
And how do we make it wearable, meaningful, and authentic?

Our Creative Designers — women overcoming barriers to employment — transformed these once-forgotten layers into one-of-a-kind jewelry. Each piece carries original paint, texture, and color that reflect the creative spirit of Detroit.
