Joe Louis Arena

Joe Louis

Everyone in Detroit has a soft spot for The Joe. As the home to the Detroit Red Wings for almost 40 years, hundreds of concerts, and countless other legendary events, Joe Louis Arena stood as a representation of Detroit's spirit on the riverfront.

Red Wings at the JoeNamed after the heavyweight boxing champ and Detroit native, Joe Louis Arena was the home of the Detroit Red Wings from 1979 to 2017. Here, the Wings won two of their four Stanley Cup championships. Second only to Madison Square Garden, The Joe was the oldest NHL venue. In 2014, plans the new Little Caesars Arena in Downtown Detroit were unveiled, and Joe Louis Arena was set to close in the following years. The Red Wings played their last game against the New Jersey Devils on April 9, 2017 (they won 4-1!), and The Joe officially closed it's doors on July 29, later that year.
Joe Louis Demolition

The Joe Collection sneak peekWith the demolition of the beloved Joe set to be completed by January of 2020, Rebel Nell is proud to collaborate with the Red Wings to produce a limited collection that will preserve this piece of Detroit history. By collecting pieces of the signature red paint from the exterior of the building, we were able to honor a place that holds a spot in the hearts of Detroiters. Select styles of this limited-edition collection will be available soon in the Team Store at Little Caesars Arena, and on the Rebel Nell website. Additionally, 15% of the proceeds from the sale of each piece will be donated to the Detroit Red Wings Foundation because looking good while doing good feels good.
